David H. Summers, 62, of Bristol, is a retired educator for over 30 years. He served as principal at Hosford, Tolar, and LCHS prior to election of his first term as Superintendent in 2004.  Mr. David Summers was elected in a special election in 2014, and was re-elected for his third overall term as Superintendent in 2016.

Summers is a 1972 graduate of Liberty County High School. He received his AA degree from Chipola College, his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his master’s degree from Nova University.

He has two married sons, Jackson and John, who both reside and work in Liberty County.  Grandson, Walker, and granddaughter, Savannah, are a special addition to his family.

David Summers is a member of the United Methodist Church of Bristol and enjoys fishing and hunting.
